| FAQ's on Web Promotion 1) Why should my Web site be listed with search engines?
Usually 75 percent of people that are using search
engines to find a site have an intent to buy. They are increasingly using the web for
transactions. Personal and professional shopping percentages are going up every month.
2) How much will it cost me if I do it on my
own?
If you submit your site to the search engines, they won't
charge you a dime. The real cost in promoting a site to search engines is in the time and
experience it takes to do it effectively.
3) How much time does it take to promote a
web site?
It can take any amount of time, depending on how many
URLs you are submitting - and also the number of search engines involved. The actual
submission of a single URL to a single search engine is really insignificant in the big
picture . The real time is spent in checking your sites listing on the engines and
optimizing your site for better positioning.
4) Does it matter to the search engines how my
site looks and functions?
Yes, actually, it does. The search engines look for
certain content in a document you submit. It even looks at your images!
5)Why can't I just promote my page myself?
You can, but get ready to spent hours adding your URL to
hundreds of search engines. You could be wasting your time. A particular search engine may
not be popular or may not be indexing at that time. How will you know: 1) if they accepted
your submission, 2) where it was indexed 3) with what keyword, and 4) in what position?
Yes, you can search for the keywords you specified in your meta tags, but did the content
structure fit with the specific search engine?
6) How do you go about promoting my
site?
I would tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Just
kidding. We promote your site through hands on hard work and smarts. We've been promoting
Web sites for years now and simply put, we've gotten good at it. Using a combination of
site optimization, customized submissions and professional banner ad creation and
placement, we get our clients the traffic they desire.
7) Why is my site not in the top 10?
If you submitted your URL and your not finding it, wait a
month then check again. If it's still not in the top ten, your check must have bounced ;-)
Please refer to the answer to question five.
8) The keyword that I wanted is not listed in the
top 10 - why?
Many times a keyword is so popular in a search engine
that it's impossible for a new site to get it; but there are always options. Sometimes
engines will list a relevant site beneath sites that have no relevant connection to the
keywords searched for. We can fix this with proper site optimization.
9) Can I design and build my own site and
have you promote it?
Yes, but we may have to modify some parts of your site to
ensure its search engine friendly.
10) Who maintains/updates the meta
tags? Do you do it or can we do it ourselves?
It's better that we did so, because a search engine
spider can crawl through your site on any given day. We would need to make changes to the
meta tags - two people aren't necessary. If you did it, we wouldn't know where your site
was in keyword relevancy.
11) What kind of keyword-position
reporting do you offer? How accurate is it?
We offer the most accurate reporting available on the
Internet which is WebPosition®. This reporting gives you exactly where your targeted
keywords place on all the top search engines.
12) To which search engines do you submit
me, and why?
There are approximately 30 specific search engines and
directories that we recommend and to which we submit. The search engines to which we
submit are the most popular on the World Wide Web, and our list is updated as popularity
changes.
